Sally Fuesaina enjoyed playing rugby union and rugby league as a child but like many female athletes stopped playing the sport at the age of 12 and didn’t return until her late teens.
Fuesaina became a mother to two beautiful girls, Athena and Luna, with the ACT Brumbies forward recently speaking of how post-partum depression after having Luna was a major driver in her getting back into the game.
Wallaroos teammate Atasi Lafai has been influential in Fuesaina’s return to the field with her form in Super Rugby Women's enough for her to don the gold jersey in 2024 which included a WXV2 triumph in South Africa.
Fuesaina made her Super Rugby Women's debut in 2023 and has played 12 straight games across two seasons with her third season shaping to be most pivotal with a Women's World Cup on the horizon.
