The Waratahs have unveiled a one-off retro jersey ahead of a heritage clash with the Reds on Saturday.

NSW will take on Queensland at the SCG on Saturday night, and showed off the special jersey they will wear, posting a photo of captain Michael Hooper in the jersey on Monday afternoon.

The Reds wore their on historic maroon jersey in the teams' only match last year, at Suncorp Stadium, and the history will be even more tangible in Sydney.

Though the jersey won't be sold in retail shops, each player will give their match-worn jersey to the club or school that they feel  really influenced their rugby career.

This will be a vital match-up for both sides, with the Waratahs closing in on the Australian conference lead, while the Reds are looking to stay in touch with finals, after a surprise loss to the Brumbies.

The Waratahs host the Reds at the SCG on Saturday night, kicking off at 7:45pm AEST, LIVE on FOX SPORTS and via RUGBY.com.au RADIO. Buy tickets here.
