The Queensland Reds have looked to secure their future with the re-signing of five Junior Wallabies, headlined by Harry McLaughlin-Phillips.

McLaughlin-Phillips will join the full-time squad in 2024, with Max Craig, Tim Ryan, John Bryant and Trevor King also signing at Ballymore.

The quintet made their name through the U19 National Championships, guiding the Reds to the final.

From here, they were all selected for this year's U20 World Championships in South Africa.

“We’re extremely pleased to have signed Harry, Max, Tim, John and Trevor," Reds coach Les Kiss said in a statement.

“All five have impressed us at club and representative level and we believe they have bright futures in the Queensland jersey.

“We’re looking forward to seeing them develop on and off the field as part of our squad at Ballymore.”

McLaughlin-Phillips is in line to start at flyhalf for the Junior Wallabies in 2024 after his strong season.

The reigning 2022 Queensland U20s Player of the Year started the final two games for Nathan Grey's side, guiding them to victory over New Zealand and Wales.

He is joined by Souths teammate Bryant, who featured in four of the five U20 World Championship matches.

Craig, who is the Hospital Cup's top-scorer after 12 tries in eight games for Easts, looms as a key piece for the Reds' front-row heading forward as he continues his progression.

The hooker narrowly leads winger Ryan, who has ten in ten games, with the Brothers product scoring two tries in his five starts for the Junior Wallabies.

18-year-old King rounds out the group, having made his first-grade debut at just 17 for Souths.

King came off the bench for the Junior Wallabies, eligible for the 2024 and 2025 U20 World Championship.
